JORC MAG-11 3954 / 3964 Zero Air Loss Condensate Drain, 1/2" NPT

The JORC MAG-11 is a magnetically operated zero-air-loss condensate drain designed for refrigerated air dryers, aftercoolers, moisture separators, piston compressors, and other compressed air applications. It automatically removes accumulated condensate without intentionally releasing valuable compressed air.

Unlike timer-operated and electrically operated drains, the MAG-11 requires no electricity, control air, batteries, or external power source. Its internal magnetic level-sensing system opens the direct-acting drain valve only when condensate needs to be discharged.

The compact aluminum housing includes both top and side 1/2" NPT inlet connections, providing greater installation flexibility in tight spaces. A rotatable bottom outlet also makes it easier to route the condensate discharge tubing.

Choose between the standard MAG-11 drain or the version equipped with a manual test button:

  • Part 3954: Standard MAG-11 zero-air-loss drain
  • Part 3964: MAG-11 zero-air-loss drain with manual test button

Available Models

JORC 3954 Standard MAG-11

The standard 3954 provides fully automatic, magnetically operated condensate removal without requiring electricity or control air.

JORC 3964 MAG-11 with Test Button

The 3964 includes a manual test button that allows maintenance personnel to check that the drain opening is clear and operating correctly. The test button can also be used to help depressurize the drain before performing routine maintenance.

Ideal Applications

The JORC MAG-11 is suitable for condensate removal from:

  • Refrigerated compressed air dryers
  • Compressed air aftercoolers
  • Moisture separators
  • Water separators
  • Piston air compressors
  • Air receiver tanks
  • Compressed air filters
  • Other compressed air condensate collection points

Why Choose a Zero-Air-Loss Drain?

Timer-operated drains open at programmed intervals, regardless of whether condensate is present. This can allow compressed air to escape every time the valve opens.

The JORC MAG-11 responds to the actual condensate level. It opens when liquid needs to be discharged and closes without intentionally bleeding compressed air from the system. Reducing unnecessary air loss can help decrease compressor runtime, lower energy consumption, and maintain more consistent system pressure.

Choosing Between the 3954 and 3964

Choose the 3954 standard model when you need reliable automatic condensate drainage without electricity or control air.

Choose the 3964 test-button model when maintenance personnel need a convenient way to:

  • Manually check the drain opening
  • Confirm that the discharge orifice is not obstructed
  • Assist with depressurizing the drain before service
  • Perform routine maintenance checks more easily

The test button does not change the drain’s automatic operation. Both models use the same magnetic level-sensing technology and provide zero-air-loss condensate discharge.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the JORC MAG-11 require electricity?

No. The MAG-11 operates through magnetic level-sensing technology and does not require electricity, batteries, control air, or an external power source.

Is the MAG-11 a zero-air-loss drain?

Yes. It discharges condensate based on the liquid level and is designed to close without intentionally releasing compressed air.

What is the difference between parts 3954 and 3964?

Part 3954 is the standard MAG-11. Part 3964 includes a manual test button for checking the drain opening and assisting with depressurization during maintenance.

Does the 3964 operate automatically?

Yes. The 3964 operates automatically just like the standard 3954. The test button is an additional manual maintenance feature and does not need to be pressed during normal operation.

What equipment can the MAG-11 be installed on?

The MAG-11 is commonly installed on refrigerated dryers, aftercoolers, moisture separators, piston compressors, receiver tanks, and other compressed air condensate collection points.

What is the maximum operating pressure?

Both versions operate at pressures from 0 to 230 PSI.

How much condensate can the MAG-11 discharge?

The maximum rated drainage capacity is 38 gallons per hour at 230 PSI.

How many inlet connections does it have?

The MAG-11 has two 1/2" NPT inlet positions. One inlet is located on the top and the other is located on the side, allowing the installer to select the connection that best fits the application.

Can the discharge outlet be repositioned?

Yes. The bottom outlet can be rotated 360 degrees to simplify installation and discharge-tubing placement.

Can the valve be serviced?

Yes. The direct-acting valve is serviceable, and replacement service kits are available.

Does the drain require programming?

No. There are no timers, intervals, or operating settings to program. Condensate discharge is controlled automatically by the internal magnetic level-sensing system
