5 CFM Regenerative Desiccant Air Dryer | For Compressors Up to 1 HP | Dew Points Down to -80°F | Available with Float or Moisture Minder® Pneumatic Drains
The Tsunami Pure-1 Regenerative Air Dryer delivers up to 5 CFM of clean, extremely dry compressed air for systems up to approximately 1 HP. Featuring integrated two-stage pre-filtration, twin regenerative desiccant towers, 120V operation, and dew points down to -80°F, the Pure-1 is ideal for paint, automotive, pneumatic, laboratory, and other moisture-sensitive compressed air applications. Choose PN 21999-1134 with float drains or PN 21999-1134-MM with Moisture Minder® pneumatic drains.
The Tsunami Pure-1 Pure Series Regenerative Air Dryer is a compact, wall-mounted compressed air drying system engineered to provide exceptionally clean, dry air for small compressed air systems and dedicated point-of-use applications.
Rated for up to 5 CFM and commonly paired with compressors up to approximately 1 HP, the Pure-1 combines Tsunami's two-stage pre-filtration system with twin regenerative desiccant towers to remove liquid water, oil aerosols, particulates, and water vapor from the compressed air stream.
The result is compressed air with dew points down to -80°F and relative humidity levels as low as 0.01%, making the Pure-1 an excellent solution for applications where even small amounts of moisture can affect equipment, processes, or finished products.
Before compressed air reaches the desiccant towers, it passes through a two-stage filtration system:
After pre-filtration, the air enters Tsunami's regenerative drying system. One desiccant tower dries the compressed air while the second tower is regenerated using a small amount of dry sweep air. Approximately every two minutes, the dryer automatically switches towers, allowing continuous drying without requiring the desiccant to be manually regenerated between cycles.
The Pure-1 uses only approximately 0.3 CFM of regeneration air, helping provide efficient regenerative drying for smaller compressed air systems.
Two drain configurations are available:
Both configurations provide the same 5 CFM drying capacity, -80°F dew point capability, 120V operation, and 175 PSI maximum operating pressure.
The Pure-1 can provide pressure dew points down to -80°F, making it suitable for applications that require significantly drier air than a conventional refrigerated air dryer can provide.
Unlike a dryer-only system, the Pure-1 includes Tsunami's two-stage pre-filtration to remove bulk water, oil aerosols, and fine particulates before the compressed air reaches the desiccant.
The twin-tower design allows one desiccant tower to dry the compressed air while the other tower regenerates. The dryer automatically switches between towers approximately every two minutes for continuous operation.
The Pure-1 consumes approximately 0.3 CFM of compressed air during regeneration, making it well suited for smaller compressed air systems where excessive purge-air consumption would significantly reduce available air capacity.
Oil and liquid water can quickly contaminate desiccant media. Tsunami's integrated water separator and oil coalescing filter remove these contaminants before they reach the dryer towers, helping maintain drying performance and extend desiccant service life.
Choose the standard 21999-1134 with float drains or upgrade to the 21999-1134-MM with Tsunami Moisture Minder® pneumatic drains based on your application and maintenance requirements.
The Pure-1 packages filtration and regenerative drying into a compact system that can be mounted near the compressor or point of use without requiring a large floor-mounted dryer.

Every Pure-1 system includes Tsunami pre-filtration consisting of:
Stage 1 – Water Separator
Stage 2 – Oil Coalescing Filter
Proper pre-filtration is especially important with regenerative desiccant dryers because liquid water and compressor oil can contaminate the desiccant and reduce drying performance.
Compressed air first enters the integrated water separator, where bulk liquid water and larger particulate contamination are removed.
The air then passes through the oil coalescing filter, which removes fine oil aerosols and particulate contamination before the air enters the regenerative dryer.
Inside the dryer, molecular sieve desiccant removes water vapor that cannot be captured by conventional filtration.
The Pure-1 contains two desiccant towers. During operation:
This automatic cycling provides a continuous supply of dry compressed air without requiring routine manual desiccant regeneration.
The standard Pure-1 uses automatic float-operated drains on the pre-filtration system. Condensate is automatically discharged as it accumulates within the filter bowl.
This configuration provides a simple and economical automatic drainage solution.
The 21999-1134-MM configuration replaces the standard float drains with Tsunami Moisture Minder® pneumatic drains.
The pneumatic drain configuration provides automatic condensate removal without requiring an electrical timer drain and is an excellent choice for users who want Tsunami's upgraded pneumatic condensate management system.
The Pure-1 has a maximum rated capacity of 5 CFM.
Tsunami's published dryer flow ratings are based on operating conditions of approximately:
Lower inlet pressure and higher inlet temperatures can reduce dryer performance and available flow capacity.
For best performance and dew point control, the dryer should be sized for the actual compressed air flow, pressure, and inlet temperature, rather than compressor horsepower alone.
The Tsunami Pure-1 is designed for applications that need extremely dry compressed air but do not require the capacity of a larger industrial regenerative dryer.
By combining two-stage filtration and regenerative desiccant drying into a single wall-mounted system, the Pure-1 provides a straightforward solution for small compressors and dedicated point-of-use applications.
Its twin-tower design continuously regenerates the desiccant during operation, while the integrated filtration system protects the desiccant from damaging oil, liquid water, and particulate contamination.
For users who want enhanced condensate management, the 21999-1134-MM Moisture Minder® version provides pneumatic drains while maintaining the same 5 CFM drying performance.
Compressed Air Advisors Online specializes in compressed air equipment, filtration, and air treatment systems. Proper sizing is especially important with regenerative desiccant dryers because pressure, temperature, air flow, and purge-air requirements can significantly affect dryer performance.

The Tsunami Pure-1 is rated for up to 5 CFM of compressed air and is commonly sized for compressors up to approximately 1 HP.
The Pure Series regenerative dryer can provide compressed air with dew points down to approximately -80°F under appropriate operating conditions.
Both models provide the same 5 CFM drying capacity and use the same regenerative drying technology.
PN 21999-1134 uses automatic float drains.
PN 21999-1134-MM uses Tsunami Moisture Minder® pneumatic drains.
Yes. The Pure-1 includes integrated two-stage pre-filtration consisting of a water separator followed by an oil coalescing filter.
Desiccant removes water vapor but can be damaged or contaminated by liquid water and compressor oil. The integrated pre-filtration removes bulk water, oils, and particulates before the compressed air reaches the desiccant towers.
The dryer contains two desiccant towers. One tower dries the compressed air while a small amount of dry sweep air regenerates the second tower. The dryer automatically alternates between the two towers approximately every two minutes.
The Pure-1 consumes approximately 0.3 CFM of compressed air during regeneration.
Yes. Both the 21999-1134 and 21999-1134-MM operate on 120V electrical power for the dryer control system.
The Pure-1 has a 1/4" NPT inlet and a 1/2" NPT outlet.
The maximum operating pressure is 175 PSI.
Tsunami specifies a minimum inlet pressure of 80 PSI for the Pure Series dryer.
No. The Pure-1 is a regenerative desiccant air dryer. It uses molecular sieve desiccant to remove water vapor and can achieve substantially lower dew points than a typical refrigerated compressed air dryer.
No. Compressor horsepower can be used as a general reference, but the dryer should ultimately be sized according to actual CFM, operating pressure, and inlet air temperature. The Pure-1 has a maximum rated flow of 5 CFM.
