10 CFM Regenerative Desiccant Air Dryer | For 3 HP Compressors | Dew Points Down to -80°F | Available with Float or Moisture Minder® Pneumatic Drains
The Tsunami Pure-3 Regenerative Air Dryer delivers up to 10 CFM of clean, extremely dry compressed air for systems using approximately 3 HP compressors. Featuring integrated two-stage pre-filtration, twin regenerative desiccant towers, 120V operation, and dew points down to -80°F, the Pure-3 is ideal for automotive finishing, paint, pneumatic equipment, manufacturing, and other moisture-sensitive compressed air applications. Choose PN 21999-1138 with float drains or PN 21999-1138-MM with Moisture Minder® pneumatic drains.
The Tsunami Pure-3 Pure Series Regenerative Air Dryer is a compact, wall-mounted compressed air drying system engineered to provide exceptionally clean, dry compressed air for small shop systems and dedicated point-of-use applications.
Rated for up to 10 CFM and designed for approximately 3 HP compressor systems, the Pure-3 combines Tsunami's two-stage pre-filtration system with twin regenerative desiccant towers to remove liquid water, oil aerosols, particulates, and water vapor from the compressed air stream.
The result is compressed air with dew points down to -80°F and relative humidity levels as low as 0.01%, making the Pure-3 an excellent solution for applications where even small amounts of moisture can affect equipment performance, paint quality, production processes, or finished products.
Before compressed air reaches the desiccant towers, it passes through a two-stage filtration system:
After pre-filtration, the air enters Tsunami's regenerative drying system. One desiccant tower dries the compressed air while the second tower is regenerated using a small amount of dry sweep air. Approximately every two minutes, the dryer automatically switches towers, providing a continuous supply of dry compressed air.
The Pure-3 uses approximately 0.5 CFM of regeneration air, providing efficient regenerative drying while maintaining a compact design suitable for smaller compressed air systems.
Two drain configurations are available:
Both configurations provide the same 10 CFM drying capacity, -80°F dew point capability, 120V operation, and 175 PSI maximum operating pressure.
The Pure-3 can provide pressure dew points down to -80°F, making it suitable for applications that require substantially drier compressed air than a conventional refrigerated air dryer can provide.
Unlike a dryer-only system, the Pure-3 includes Tsunami's two-stage pre-filtration to remove bulk water, oil aerosols, and fine particulates before the compressed air reaches the desiccant.
The twin-tower design allows one desiccant tower to dry the compressed air while the other tower regenerates. The dryer automatically switches between towers approximately every two minutes for continuous drying.
The Pure-3 consumes approximately 0.5 CFM of compressed air during regeneration, allowing the desiccant to regenerate automatically during operation without requiring manual drying or replacement after each use.
Liquid water, compressor oil, and particulate contamination can shorten desiccant life and reduce dryer performance. Tsunami's integrated water separator and oil coalescing filter remove these contaminants before they reach the regenerative dryer towers.
Choose the standard 21999-1138 with float drains or the 21999-1138-MM with Tsunami Moisture Minder® pneumatic drains based on your application and preferred condensate management system.
The Pure-3 combines filtration and regenerative drying into one compact wall-mounted package, making it ideal for installations where floor space is limited.

Every Pure-3 system includes Tsunami pre-filtration consisting of:
Stage 1 – Water Separator
Stage 2 – Oil Coalescing Filter
Proper pre-filtration is especially important with regenerative desiccant dryers because liquid water, compressor oil, and particulate contamination can damage or contaminate the desiccant and reduce drying performance.
Compressed air first enters the integrated water separator, where bulk liquid water and larger particulate contamination are removed.
The air then passes through the oil coalescing filter, which removes oil aerosols and fine particulate contamination before the air enters the regenerative dryer.
Inside the dryer, molecular sieve desiccant adsorbs water vapor that cannot be removed by conventional compressed air filtration.
The Pure-3 contains two desiccant towers. During operation:
This continuous regeneration process provides consistently dry compressed air without requiring routine manual desiccant regeneration.
The standard Pure-3 uses automatic float-operated drains on the pre-filtration system. Condensate is discharged automatically as it accumulates within the filter bowls.
This configuration provides a simple and economical automatic drainage solution.
The 21999-1138-MM configuration uses Tsunami Moisture Minder® pneumatic drains for automatic condensate removal.
The pneumatic drain configuration provides reliable condensate removal without relying on an electrical timer drain and is an excellent choice for users who prefer Tsunami's pneumatic condensate management system.
The Pure-3 has a maximum rated capacity of 10 CFM and is listed by Tsunami for approximately 3 HP compressor systems.
Tsunami's published dryer flow ratings are based on operating conditions of approximately:
Lower inlet pressure and higher inlet temperatures can reduce dryer performance and available flow capacity.
For best performance and dew point control, the dryer should be sized according to actual compressed air flow, operating pressure, and inlet air temperature, rather than compressor horsepower alone.
The Tsunami Pure-3 is designed for smaller compressed air applications that require extremely dry air but do not need the capacity, footprint, or expense of a larger industrial regenerative dryer.
By combining two-stage pre-filtration and regenerative desiccant drying into a single wall-mounted system, the Pure-3 provides a complete air treatment solution for applications up to 10 CFM.
Its twin-tower design continuously regenerates the desiccant during operation, while the integrated filtration system protects the dryer from liquid water, oil, and particulate contamination.
For users who prefer pneumatic condensate management, the 21999-1138-MM Moisture Minder® version provides pneumatic drains while maintaining the same 10 CFM drying performance.
Compressed Air Advisors Online specializes in compressed air equipment, filtration, and air treatment systems. Proper sizing is especially important with regenerative desiccant dryers because pressure, temperature, air flow, and regeneration-air requirements can significantly affect dryer performance.

The Tsunami Pure-3 regenerative air dryer is rated for up to 10 CFM of compressed air and is designed for approximately 3 HP compressor systems.
The Pure Series regenerative dryer can provide compressed air with dew points down to approximately -80°F under appropriate operating conditions.
Both models provide the same 10 CFM drying capacity and use the same twin-tower regenerative drying technology.
PN 21999-1138 uses automatic float drains.
PN 21999-1138-MM uses Tsunami Moisture Minder® pneumatic drains.
Yes. The Pure-3 includes integrated two-stage pre-filtration consisting of a water separator followed by an oil coalescing filter.
The desiccant removes water vapor but should be protected from liquid water, compressor oil, and particulate contamination. The Pure-3's integrated pre-filtration removes these contaminants before the compressed air reaches the desiccant towers.
The dryer contains two desiccant towers. One tower dries compressed air while the other regenerates using dry sweep air. The dryer automatically alternates between the two towers approximately every two minutes.
The Pure-3 uses approximately 0.5 CFM of compressed air for regeneration.
Yes. Both PN 21999-1138 and PN 21999-1138-MM operate on 120V electrical power for the dryer control system.
The Pure-3 has a 1/4" NPT inlet and a 1/2" NPT outlet.
The maximum operating pressure is 175 PSI.
Tsunami specifies a minimum inlet pressure of 80 PSI for the Pure Series dryer.
No. The Pure-3 is a regenerative desiccant air dryer. It uses molecular sieve desiccant to remove water vapor and can achieve substantially lower dew points than a typical refrigerated compressed air dryer.
No. Compressor horsepower provides a general sizing reference, but the dryer should ultimately be sized according to actual CFM, operating pressure, and inlet air temperature. The Pure-3 has a maximum rated flow of 10 CFM.
