How the Hankison FLXA5.5 Works
Warm, moisture-laden compressed air enters the dryer and passes through the air-to-air heat exchanger. The incoming air is partially cooled by the cold, dry compressed air leaving the dryer.
The compressed air then enters the chiller section, where it is cooled to its pressure dew point. Water and oil vapors condense into liquid and are removed by the integrated moisture separator and automatic condensate drain.
The cold, dry compressed air returns through the air-to-air heat exchanger, where it is reheated before leaving the dryer. Reheating the compressed air helps prevent condensation from forming on downstream piping.
The refrigeration circuit cools and solidifies the phase change material. Once the PCM has stored sufficient cooling energy, the refrigeration compressor and condenser fan cycle off. The PCM continues cooling the compressed air without consuming refrigeration compressor power. When the PCM has absorbed enough heat and returns to a liquid state, the refrigeration system automatically restarts.
