Model: SAF-515 | SKU: 340-140 | 515 SCFM | 2″ NPT

Short Product Description

The Super-Dry SAF-515 Compressed Air Filter, PN 340-140, is a high-capacity industrial compressed air filter housing rated for 515 SCFM at 100 PSIG with 2″ NPT inlet and outlet connections.

Available with Grade X, Y, or Z filtration, the SAF-515 can be configured for general-purpose particulate removal, high-efficiency coalescing filtration, or activated carbon filtration. An internal float drain and differential pressure indicator are included for automatic condensate removal and convenient filter condition monitoring.

Full Product Description

The Super-Dry SAF-515 Compressed Air Filter, SKU 340-140, provides high-capacity compressed air filtration for demanding industrial air systems. Rated for 515 SCFM at 100 PSIG, the SAF-515 features 2″ NPT inlet and outlet connections, making it well suited for larger compressor installations and compressed air treatment systems.

Super-Dry SAF Series filters are designed to remove up to 99% of contaminants present in compressed air. Cleaner compressed air helps maximize air-tool service life, maintain pneumatic machinery and control-system performance, and keep downstream piping and valves free from contaminants.

The SAF-515 accepts Super-Dry E-515 filter elements in three available filtration grades. This allows the same filter housing to be configured for general particulate filtration, high-efficiency oil aerosol removal, or activated carbon filtration depending on the required compressed air quality.

An internal float drain and differential pressure indicator are included, helping automatically remove collected condensate while providing a convenient indication of filter condition.

Benefits

High Airflow Capacity

With a rated capacity of 515 SCFM, the SAF-515 is designed for larger compressed air systems where substantial airflow must be treated without unnecessarily restricting system capacity.

Protects Downstream Equipment

Proper filtration helps reduce particulate, oil aerosol, and other contamination reaching pneumatic machinery, air tools, controls, valves, piping, and production equipment.

Improves Compressed Air Quality

Three available filtration grades allow the SAF-515 to be matched to the air-quality requirements of the application.

Automatic Condensate Removal

The included internal float drain automatically removes collected liquid from the filter housing, minimizing the need for manual draining.

Filter Condition Monitoring

The included differential pressure indicator provides a visual reference for monitoring pressure differential across the filter element and determining when element service may be necessary.

Flexible Filtration Options

The SAF-515 housing can use Grade X, Y, or Z E-515 elements, allowing the filtration level to be changed without replacing the complete filter housing.

Best For

The Super-Dry SAF-515 is well suited for:

  • Large industrial compressed air systems
  • Manufacturing facilities
  • CNC and automated production equipment
  • Pneumatic machinery
  • Plant air systems
  • Instrument and control air
  • Paint and finishing operations
  • Refrigerated air dryer pre-filtration

SAF-515 Filter Element Options

Grade X – General Purpose / Particulate

The Grade X element is designed for general-purpose compressed air filtration and particulate removal.

  • Solid particles: 1.0 micron
  • Oil carryover: 0.5 ppm
  • Pressure drop: 0.44 PSI

Grade X is a good choice for general plant air, equipment protection, and applications where particulate contamination needs to be removed from the compressed air stream.

Grade Y – High Efficiency / Oil Removal

The Grade Y element provides high-efficiency filtration for applications requiring cleaner compressed air and very low oil aerosol carryover.

  • Solid particles: 0.01 micron
  • Oil carryover: 0.01 ppm
  • Pressure drop: 1.74 PSI

Grade Y is commonly used where fine particulate and oil aerosol removal are required.

Grade Z – Activated Carbon / Odor & Taste

The Grade Z activated carbon element is designed for applications requiring extremely low residual oil contamination and removal of objectionable odor and taste.

  • Oil carryover: 0.003 ppm
  • Pressure drop: 1.31 PSI

Super-Dry identifies Grade X as particulate filtration, Grade Y as high-efficiency filtration, and Grade Z as activated carbon filtration.

Choosing the Correct Filter Grade

Choose Grade X for general-purpose particulate filtration and basic downstream equipment protection.

Choose Grade Y when fine particulate and oil aerosol removal are required.

Choose Grade Z when activated carbon filtration is needed for extremely low residual oil levels and odor or taste removal.

For applications requiring progressively cleaner compressed air, multiple SAF Series filters with different element grades can be installed in sequence.

Why Choose the Super-Dry SAF-515?
